Biography

Wes Pittman earned his law degree with honors at the University of Florida. Since then, he has become a highly successful and sought-after attorney representing injured people or the families of those killed through the negligence of others. His success is perhaps best measured by the fact that other attorneys and professionals in other disciplines routinely seek his advice, counsel, and representation.
Although based in Florida, he is frequently admitted to practice in courts in other states throughout the U.S. and has represented clients in foreign jurisdictions, including England, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Italy.
He founded The Pittman Firm, P.A., which is committed in its entirety to serving the interests of injured people and consumers. His vow to represent people, not insurance companies or corporations, has been upheld throughout the firm’s history. His advocacy against the trucking industry for permitting overworked and undertrained drivers to kill and maim on the nation’s highways, the medical and nursing home industries for negligently disregarding reasonable standards of care for their patients, and auto manufacturers for their propensity to place profits over safety has earned him a reputation as a “pit bull” of litigation. As a result of his efforts and to the benefit of the public, many of those defendants and others have adopted safety standards that save lives.
Mr. Pittman has lectured extensively at professional conferences throughout the United States, Europe and Asia on matters relating to personal injury and death cases. He has authored numerous professional articles for attorneys practicing in these areas. He appears weekly on WJHG-TV, the local NBC affiliate in Panama City, Florida, to discuss current legal topics and to provide consumer information about automobile, motorcycle, maritime and truck safety, product defects, harassment and discrimination in the workplace, and other diverse matters relating to personal injury and wrongful death.
He has served multiple terms on the board of directors of the Florida Justice Association, formerly known as the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and on its executive committee. He is also a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice and has been a member of its product liability and medical malpractice committees. Mr. Pittman is a member of Million Dollar Advocates, and on a local level, he is a member of The Florida Bar where he has contributed to its Automobile Insurance Committee and its Civil Procedure Rules Committee.
Additional memberships have included the Southern Trial Lawyers’ Association and the American Society of Law and Medicine. He is currently a Florida director of APITLA, the Association of Plaintiffs Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America, and is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, where he is listed in the top 100 Trial Lawyers in Florida.
Mr. Pittman concentrates his practice of law in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, product liability, and class action as well as multidistrict litigation involving pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplement misformulation, and the negligent design of medical devices resulting in injuries.
He is married to Jan Pittman, and they have three children. His hobbies include flying hot air balloons, airplanes, and helicopters, fly fishing, hiking, and photography. His wife is an avid equestrian who continues to win world championships in quarter horse western pleasure competitions.
