Biography

Tom Hurley: M.Ed, CPT, YFS3, YNS, HSSCS, YSAS, is
owner of Dominant Athletics, a performance-based
training program for High School and Collegiate athletes,
and “Move Better, Play Better” an athletic movement
development program for athletes 7-13. He currently
has programs with over 200 young athletes in individual, team, and
club sports – from entry level to NCAA and Olympic Level competitors. Tom’s
unique education, firm grasp of child development and coaching theory, and
extensive experience in counseling have made him highly sought out as a
Mental Skills Coach as well.
Tom was classically trained in Health and Physical Education, earning his
Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College in 1983. His career
path lead him to a large, private youth treatment facility where he eventually
became a coordinator. As an individual and group therapist, he was
recognized as a Masters Level Clinician by the State of New Jersey and
coordinated several adolescent treatment facilities in that state. As his own
family grew, Tom stepped out of that role and re-entered the educational
field, first as a Lead Teacher for Public Alternative Education Program, then
as a High School Health and Physical Education Teacher. Tom earned his
M.Ed. from Wilkes University in Educational Development and Strategies,
and has continued his education within the field of Sports Psychology at
Argosy University.
Tom is currently Head of Youth Programming and Educational Development
for Hangtime Fitness USA. Tom has enjoyed success in coaching several
different sports at various levels. His youth teams have made it to statelevel
High School Post Season Tournaments in softball and soccer. His Boy’s
Soccer Team, of which he was the Assistant Coach, won the Pennsylvania
State title in 2009.
