Biography

Larry Broughton is an author, speaker, entrepreneur, humanitarian,
and family guy. After growing up in a small mill town in rural western
New York, he spent eight years with the US Army’s elite Special
Forces, commonly known as the Green Berets. During this time,
he was twice awarded Outstanding Non-Commissioned Officer and attained the rank of
Staff Sergeant.
Larry has parlayed his unique experience of serving on Special Forces A-Teams to the
business world. After serving as Vice President and Partner of one of the country’s leading
hotel companies, in 2001 he became Founder and CEO of Broughton Hospitality
(BroughtonHospitality.com). Since its inception, his firm has received numerous awards
for performance, and is considered a leader in the boutique hotel industry. He has also
been awarded Ernst & Young’s prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award® and the
National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) named him their Vetrepreneur
® of the Year, while Entrepreneur Magazine named his firm among their Hot 500
Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies.
Larry’s upbeat, creative approach to business has been featured in news articles from
the Los Angeles Times to Entrepreneur Magazine, on national radio shows, on every
major television network, and he has made multiple appearances on CNBC’s The Big
Idea with Donny Deutsch.
This summer Larry will be launching ToolsForSuccess.com, a high-octane, on-line, entrepreneurial
mentoring and coaching program for the entrepreneur who aspires to create
significant lasting legacies with their family, businesses and community.
Larry is the author of two upcoming books: The first is called “Leadership Lessons From
A Green Beret.” The second book, already receiving nation-wide attention, is called
“Warriors In The Boardroom.”
