Kevin O’Shea is a co-founder of BrandTruth and he has a long and varied retail, branding and qualitative research background. Kevin’s management career spans 25+ years, allowing exposure to all levels of retail branding and product/service execution. Starting his career in the grocery and FMCG arena, he was eventually recruited by San Francisco branding pioneer ESPRIT and became an integral part of their management team. As a director and 10-year corporate officer for the trendy apparel brand, he was responsible for developing and supporting multiple programs and brand initiatives for such major retail accounts as Federated Department Stores (Now Macy’s Inc.), May Company, Dillard’s, Saks Inc., Kohl’s and Nordstrom.
During this period, marketing, merchandising and fulfillment successes were tempered with losses as “best guess” forecasts and ineffectual primary research methods were all that was available to marketers of the day. We figured that there had to be a better way…what if a brand could actively and consistently monitor its relationship with the buying public in real time? What if high-level executives and business owners could reach out (even by proxy) and interact with their customers and products in the marketplace and get immediate and uncorrupted feedback…and then ADJUST their programs accordingly?
