Biography

Joseph Morstad is a passionate fitness coach driven to help his
clients and those with IBD, feel, move, and perform better. He
holds multiple fitness certifications and is constantly building
upon his education to improve his client’s results. Joseph also
competed as a Division 1 collegiate golfer at St. Mary’s College
of California, where he was named team captain his senior year.
Joseph was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2008 and lost 50 lbs in just six weeks
due to this condition. After his release from the hospital, he used his knowledge as a
fitness coach to help him recover and rebuild his body. Within a few months, he had
regained all of his lost weight and became even stronger than before his diagnosis.
He has been able to manage his ulcerative colitis and avoid any serious flares since
then with the help of his doctors, proper medication, and adherence to principles that
improve strength and sustain health.
In 2011, he completed his first sprint triathlon as a mentor/participant with Team
Challenge, and plans to participate and improve his race time in 2012. Joseph wrote
his first book, “The IBD Fitness Solution” as a resource for those battling with IBD to
navigate through the uncertainty and confusion that IBD can cause. His goal is to help
as many people as possible find their strength – inside and out – and hopes that this
book has helped you accomplish that goal as well.
