Biography

Born in Chicago, John Honcharuk, ATC, CSCS, has been actively
participating in the field of sports medicine for over 25 years.
John is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and
the National Strength and Conditioning Association. John is also
a SPARQ™ certified Trainer and Clinical Sportsmetrics™ Instructor.
John is currently the Facility Manager of AthletiCo in St. Charles, IL. In this capacity,
John also serves as Head Athletic Trainer for Fox Valley RFC, Medical coordinator for
Predator Rugby Club, and an active member of the USA Rugby Sports Medicine’s
educational programming.
Committed to continuous improvement, John is studying human movement and how
it pertains to injury prevention, rehabilitation and fitness. John is a MovNat Alumnus
studying Hardstyle Kettlebell training, TRX suspension training and nutritional coaching
in order to better serve AthletiCo’s patients, clients and staff.
An expert in the field, John has presented on the local, State, National and International
conferences on the topics of injury prevention, rehabilitation and fitness training.
John has been published in Training & Conditioning magazine as well as Orthopaedic
Excellence Magazine. In addition, John was featured on ESPN Radio 1000 and
Shape online magazine’s Fitness Trends to Watch in 2012.
John has worked in the National Football League, National Basketball Association,
National Hockey League, Arena Football League, National Indoor Professional Soccer
League, United States Rugby Team, Midwest Select Side Rugby Team, the University
of Iowa and also at the high school level. During this time, he has been a member of
State as well as National Championship teams.
John was awarded the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit, the highest honor
a civilian can receive, signed by then President Clinton, for “Saving a Human Life.”
John brings all of his experience to create an environment from which those that
suffer from an injury can actively participate in fitness programming as part of the
pathway to optimal health.
