Biography

If you’re like most small business owners, you waste thousands of dollars every year in taxes you don’t need to pay. Jeramy Smith wants to help you fix that.
Jeramy Smith has been a CPA in Texas since 1994. He has worked in small public accounting firms as well as in the tax department of a multi-billion dollar Dallas-based holding corporation that owned and operated businesses across a diverse range of industries.
He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Tax Professionals. He is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Education runs deep in his family. In recent years he has focused his tax work on teaching small business clients about tax saving opportunities and helping them implement real tax saving strategies.
In the summer of 2010, he started his own accounting firm, Jeramy Smith, CPA, PLLC in the north Dallas suburb of Plano. He agrees that many accountants do a fine job recording the history given to them. They compile monthly, quarterly, and annual books and records. At tax time, they put the “right” numbers in the “right” boxes in the “right” forms. But then they call it a day.
Jeramy doesn’t want to just record your history; he wants to help you write it in a proactive manner. In order to minimize your taxes, you need to plan. You need concepts and strategies that leave more on your bottom line.
