Biography

Ed Craine is a nationally recognized expert in commercial and residential
real estate financing.
He is the CEO of award-winning Smith Craine Real Estate Financing
in San Francisco.
Ed and his company have won numerous awards for excellence, including being
named California Mortgage Broker of the Year 2008 and one of the 10 Leading Mortgage
Broker Providers of the United States in 2009.
He is a sought after speaker, trainer, and writer on mortgage and real estate topics.
He has been interviewed by numerous media sources including major TV and radio
affiliates in Los Angeles and San Francisco as well as print and online media including
The Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, the LA Times, and the San Francisco
Chronicle. Recently Ed became the publisher of a leading Mortgage industry trade
publication.
Ed is active in industry trade associations, where he has held a variety of executive
and board positions. He is currently the President of the California Association of
Mortgage Professionals.
Ed is also widely known for his business networking expertise. He is the Executive
Director for BNI (Business Network International) in San Francisco, a position he has
held since 1997. During this time, he has helped several thousand businesspeople
