Biography

Dr. Rosane Oliveira helps clients lose weight and be healthy by eating according to their personal DNA. Her passion for food and nutrition ignited at an early age while learning to cook delicious dishes with her Portuguese grandparents. A breakthrough in her genetics research in 2008 sparked her to change her career to
focus on lifestyle medicine.
She promotes the idea that food and lifestyle choices affect gene expression and are the catalysts that determine the onset of many of the common chronic diseases. Through harnessing the knowledge hidden in their genes, her clients learn to eat their way to wellness and get back into their skinny jeans in the process.
Dr. Oliveira is the owner-manager of A Taste of Green and the Director of Integrative Medicine at the University of California, Davis. She has over 18 years of experience as a molecular geneticist. Applying her background in genetics, she creates personalized nutrition plans for her clients so they can maximize the effectiveness of their diet based on their genetic profiles. Her expertise has helped clients lose stubborn body fat, attain better results from their workout, and lower their cholesterol without taking prescription medications.
Dr. Oliveira has earned a masters and a PhD in Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, and Public Health from the State University of São Paulo, Brazil, and is also a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing on the onset and progression of cancer and how food, especially fat, affects gene expression that eventually leads to chronic diseases.
