Kelly Smudde

Biography

Drs. Allen and Kelly Smudde are a husband and wife team
practicing in Valencia, CA. They were both born in Indiana
and met in Chicago at Northwestern University. Dr. Allen
moved from Terre Haute, IN to La Canada, CA when he was
ten years old, and Dr. Kelly grew up on a farm in Valparaiso,
IN. It was not until they were at their wedding reception on Dr.
Kelly’s farm in Indiana that they realized that their fathers had a mutual roommate
while at Indiana University Dental School, and all were reunited at their wedding.
They both come from a long line of dentists in the family. Dr. Allen’s father and several
family members are dentists, and Dr. Kelly is a fourth generation dentist. They both
started learning dentistry from their earliest memories onward. They both spent many
hours in their parents’ labs hand-sculpting teeth out of wax and hand-making jewelry.
They are continually building upon the foundation of skills that they learned as children,
so that they can provide you and your family the best dentistry has to offer.
Education:
Dr. Kelly Smudde attended Culver Military Academy for eight summers. Her family has attended
Culver for over 70 years. Dr. Kelly attended Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN
and is a Fighting Irish Fan. Dr. Kelly then went on to attend Northwestern University School
of Dentistry in Chicago. She did her residency at UCLA Sepulveda VA in LA.
Dr. Allen Smudde attended Flintridge Prep for high school in La Canada, CA, then Glendale
Community College, and Humboldt State University in California. He then went
on to attend Northwestern University School of Dentistry in Chicago. Dr. Allen did his
residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital VA in Chicago. (He likes the Fighting Irish
too…..along with The Northwestern Wildcats!)
