Denise Longshaw

Biography

Denise Longshaw began her financial services career in 2003 as a Financial Advisor with VALIC Financial Advisor. She worked primarily with State of Florida employees who are members of the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Always seeking a better approach, a better method, a better answer and the best results
for the clients she serve, Denise gained industry wide experience working with companies such as InvestaCorp, Planmember Securities, ING Financial Partners and Bencor Retirement Group.

Denise observed throughout the years that many people make financial decisions with incomplete information or a limited knowledge of how money works. She believes a retirement plan cannot be a ten-minute conversation with a bank teller or fifteen minutes to enroll in an employer’s 401k or 403b plan. She believes it is an advisor’s responsibility to thoroughly understand the goals and dreams of the clients they serve and advisors should focus on doing investigational work first to get a genuine understanding of a client’s needs and to provide solutions rather than to sell products.

Today, she is the President and Founder of LONGSHAW Financial Group, a financial services firm located in Broward County, Florida. LONGSHAW Financial Group was founded to fulfill a growing need among baby-boomers who seek a solid retirement strategy and a face-to-face, personalized planning approach to help them achieve financial security and independence. Longshaw Financial Group begins with a clean slate to design a custom fit retirement plan for each client. The firm works exclusively for clients and not for financial companies or brokerages.

In addition to working with private individuals, Denise continues to work with members of the Florida Retirement System and is sought after by many FRS Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) participants and Investment Plan members for her guidance, her solid judgment and specific recommendations based on her client’s goals and wishes.

Denise is an Investment Advisor Representative with Global Financial Private Capital, LLC, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor that brings institutional level wealth management practices and pricing to individuals. She is supported by a Financial Planning team and insurance specialists to help clients achieve their financial goals. Denise holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is certified as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor through the College for Financial Planning. She is a current member and past board member of the Broward Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and also, a member of Kiwanis International. She lives in Fort Lauderdale with her 11-year-old son, Jonathan.
