Biography
Cathy Sainato was born and raised in Albany, New York. A lifelong resident, she and her husband are the proud owners of family-owned “Sainato’s Market” for over three decades where they created a family-style deli as well as long-lasting community relationships. Cathy also worked for New York State
as a secretary and a Compliance Representative before retiring in 2009. Her love for cooking and baking has been instilled in her family as well as in her business, making delicious food for the Albany Tri-City area residents for years.
As a musician and artist, Cathy was inspired by her three granddaughters to write a children’s book. The stories that she made up to put them to sleep at night became a requested favorite every time they stayed over, and thus a book was born. Beyond being a storyteller, Cathy is a proud mother of two children and her three granddaughters are the loves of her life. Cathy is an avid and creative gardener, and in her spare time you can find her in the garden with her husband Luigi where they still reside in Albany.
