Andrew Harper
Biography
Andrew Harper is co-founder and CEO of Gaeltek, LLC, an award- winning managed services provider located in Manassas, Virginia. Gaeltek monitors, manages and maintains the network technology of small to mid-sized businesses in the Washington, DC area and is dedicated to providing its clients with cost-effective, state-of-the-art solutions.
Prior to co-founding Gaeltek in 2004, Andrew served over sixteen years as a Weapons Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy. His service included assignments on Her Majesty’s submarines and surface vessels as well as teaching positions, including at Royal Naval Strategic Systems School. His final Navy posting was to the British Embassy in Washington, DC as the Technical Liaison Officer and Head of the Technical Department for Strategic Programs, Royal Navy. Upon completion of his service in the Royal Navy, he joined the British Embassy in Washington, DC as the IT systems manager for the British Council, the international educational and cultural arm of the British Embassy.
Andrew and the Gaeltek team have earned many honors including the Prince William Chamber of Commerce 2013 Business of the Year; Next-Gen 250, one of the 250 IT companies nationwide honored for utilizing a smart and different approach to IT services and integration while providing exceptional service; and one of the 40 most innovative IT companies in the United States and Canada by industry publication CRN for ingenuity and success in developing unique ways to utilize technology to help customers solve business problems. Andrew has been named to the MSP Mentor 250 list, an industry honor that identifies the top 250 leading IT executives, entrepreneurs, and experts worldwide as well as the SMB Nation Top 150 list of the most influential people in the small to mid-sized IT channel globally. Andrew has been featured in such publications as Channel Pro magazine, Prince William Living, Be Better at Business, and on Executive Leaders Radio, the number one business weekly radio show in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. He also has served on numerous industry advisory boards and the ITT Tech Program Advisory Committee.
Mr. Harper is co-author of Business IT 101: A Business Owner’s Guide for Finding Hassle-Free Computer Support (2011). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the Royal Naval Engineering College.
