Zan Beaver

Biography

Dr. Beaver is passionate about teaching others inside
and outside of his practice. He is an avid reader,
writer and facebook enthusiast ( www.facebook.
com/beaverdental). He utilizes his extensive training
and experience to treat even the most challenging dental situations. His
commitment to “doing it right” and ability to “handle just about anything”
through a dental team approach has won him the admiration of patients
and other doctors. A big bonus is that Dr. Beaver uses his expertise to
prevent big problems from ever happening.
Dr. Beaver graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill in 1995 and the University of Florida College of Dentistry
in 1999. He has a long history of achievement from his younger days in
high school, college and now in his professional life. Along the way he
participated in football, track and played guitar in a band. As a senior in
high school, he was captain of the football team and vice president of
the student council.
As a collegian, he was a varsity cheerleader on a team that placed
second in national competition. He worked as an ER technician at UNC
hospitals emergency department to help pay for college and credits his
love for medical and dental sciences to this experience.
In dental school, Dr. Beaver received numerous awards including the
Omicron Kappa Upsilon Student Ethics Award, The Dentistry College
Council’s Student of the Year Award and the C.W. Fain Award for professionalism
while a student at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
He was honored to be elected three consecutive years to serve
on the Student Performance Evaluation Committee with faculty at the
University of Florida College of Dentistry.
Dr. Beaver continued his education following graduation from dental
school at the world renowned Dawson Center for Advanced Dental
Studies and furthered his understanding of the art and science of dentistry
with Dr. William Strupp, a nationally recognized pioneer in modern
cosmetic dentistry. He is currently a member of the American Academy
of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and
the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
He has been helping patients so they can enjoy eating and smiling again
with dental implants since 1999. Using a systematic team approach, Dr.
Beaver can develop various options based on an individual’s needs and
budget while offering them a variety of solutions. He can help simplify
even the most debilitated situations and often “rescue” the denture patient.
In addition to cosmetics and implant dentistry he has a special interest
in treating sleep apnea and utilizes one of the most comprehensive
systems for treating tmj/ migraine sufferers available anywhere in the
United States. He uses the most safe and predictable methods for oral
conscious sedation to treat patients with high dental anxiety.
