Biography
Jay was born and raised in Houston, Texas and received his Bachelors degree in Finance with a concentration in Actuarial Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
He worked for 13 years as an actuary for companies in Houston and Boston before returning home to be closer to family and start his own insurance agency with Farmers Insurance.
His hobbies include UT football, skiing, fantasy baseball (his statistical background has helped him win several championships), biking and playing with his son, and coaching his son’s T-ball team. An avid traveler, Jay has traveled to nearly 50 countries on 6 continents, as well as 47 of the United States and is always planning the next trip in the back of his mind.
Since joining Farmers, Jay has achieved the prestigious Toppers Club and Championship distinction in every year eligible and was the first agent ever in his district to achieve both in his first year in the business.
The Olson Insurance Group is located in West Houston and continues to grow at a rapid pace while remaining an excellent place for everyone to work.
Jay is very close with his family; parents, Art and Dixie, as well as mother in law, Andi, all live nearby and spend lots of fun time with Jay, his wife Rebecca, and their 5 year old son Matthew.
